Booking & Rates

Everything about reserving your stay, from check-in time to cancellation policy.

Yes — and we genuinely hope you will. Direct booking through orchardandvinemountainhaus.com puts you in touch with us directly, which means faster communication, a personal host relationship, and the satisfaction of supporting a small family business instead of adding a platform fee to your bill.

We're also on Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, and Google Vacation Rentals if that's your preferred platform — same cabin, same 5-Star Experience.

2 nights on most dates. Peak weekends — major holidays, Apple Festival season, and summer holiday weekends — may require a 3-night minimum. Exact minimums are shown in real time on the availability calendar.

Check-in: 4:00 PM
Check-out: 10:00 AM

Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on bookings before and after yours — just ask. We'll do our best to make it work. Check-in is self-guided with a keypad, so there's no need to coordinate arrival timing with us directly.

For direct bookings: 50% of the total is due at time of reservation, with the remaining balance due 7 days before arrival. All paid prepayments are non-refundable.

If you book through Airbnb or another platform, their individual cancellation terms will apply. We always recommend reviewing the policy at the time of booking.

Direct bookings through our website are processed securely through Lodgify's payment system. Major credit cards are accepted. You'll receive a confirmation immediately after booking.

No security deposit is required for direct bookings. We operate on trust — and our guests have never given us a reason to think twice about that. Damage protection may be handled differently through third-party booking platforms.

The Cabin

What's here, how it works, and what you'll want to know before you arrive.

Orchard & Vine Mountain Haus comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. The three bedrooms are:

  • King master suite (private bathroom)
  • King guest room
  • Kids' bunk bed room (twin/full bunk)

We also have a baby crib available. The cabin is 1,200 sq ft on a single level — no interior stairs — so it works beautifully for families traveling with little ones or guests who prefer single-floor living.

The hot tub sits on the private lower-level patio, overlooking a wooded hillside. It's always warm, always clean, and always yours — no shared spaces, no scheduling, no waiting. The first Blue Ridge sunset from that hot tub is a memory most of our guests don't stop talking about.

Please note: the hot tub area does not have a gate or lock — keep this in mind if you're traveling with young children or curious pups.

Everything you need to actually cook. The chef's kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee station (drip coffee, tea, and hot cocoa bar), cooking utensils, and all the essentials to make a proper meal.

We stock complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. For everything else, the Ingles grocery in Ellijay is about 10 minutes away. Or skip it entirely — downtown Ellijay's restaurants are worth the short drive.

Fiber internet — not just "Wi-Fi available." Real, fast, reliable fiber that works for video calls, streaming, and remote work. We know mountain internet has a reputation and we've made sure ours doesn't earn it.

There's a 65" Smart TV with Roku. Log into your own streaming accounts (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, whatever you use) and settle in. There's also a record player with a vinyl collection that has become one of the most-mentioned touches in our guest reviews.

Quite a bit, actually. The outdoor spaces are one of the reasons guests come back:

  • Private hot tub on the lower-level patio
  • Outdoor gas fireplace on the covered back deck
  • Fire pit in the fully fenced front yard
  • Rocking chair front porch
  • Cornhole and yard games
  • Gas grill and outdoor dining

And then there are the deer. A doe, her fawns, and a very unhurried buck make near-daily appearances at the tree line. We keep deer corn in the cabin. It never gets old.

Yes and yes. A full-size washer and dryer are available for guest use. Free parking is included on the premises — enough for multiple vehicles. The cabin is inside a gated resort, so all parking is secure.

We stock shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and cleaning products. Fresh linens and towels are included. Hair dryer, iron, and ironing board are all available. We aim for the standard we'd want ourselves — if something's missing, just text us.

Dogs & Pets

Because your pups are part of the family — and they're very welcome here.

Genuinely, yes. "Pets allowed" in fine print is not our standard. We designed the cabin with dogs in mind — fully fenced yard, deer corn for entertainment, room to roam, and a host who will happily send you dog-friendly trail recommendations before you arrive.

The fenced yard has become one of the most-loved features of the whole cabin, guest review after guest review. Your dog will have opinions about it.

Pet fees and policies may vary by booking platform and stay dates. Please check the listing at time of booking, or contact us directly for the most current details. We keep it simple and fair.

We don't have rigid breed restrictions — we believe good dogs come in all sizes and shapes. If you have a question about your specific pup, just reach out before booking. We'd rather have a quick conversation than have you wonder.

Standard mountain-courteous stuff:

  • Pets must not be left unattended in the cabin for extended periods
  • Please clean up after your pup in the yard and on resort grounds
  • Keep dogs on leash on resort common areas and trails
  • Let us know if there's any mess so we can take care of it properly

The deer will wander close. Most dogs find this either thrilling or deeply offensive — it's one of the cabin's signature features either way.

Ellijay and the Blue Ridge Mountains are genuinely great for dogs. A few favorites:

  • Bear Creek mountain biking and hiking trails (dogs on leash)
  • Cartecay River walk — flat, shaded, beautiful
  • Fainting Goat Vineyards — dog-friendly on the garden lawn
  • Buckley Vineyards — outdoor seating, dogs welcome
  • Fort Mountain State Park — hiking and lake access

Ask us for a seasonal recommendation — we know which spots are best for your dog's personality as much as yours.

Coosawattee River Resort

Your cabin is inside a 4,000-acre gated community. Here's what that means for your stay.

Coosawattee River Resort is a private, gated community of approximately 4,000 acres nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Ellijay, Georgia. It's a neighborhood first — quiet, wooded, with residential roads and abundant wildlife — that also happens to come with a remarkable set of resort amenities accessible to all guests staying within it.

Think of it as having a private mountain resort as your backyard, without the hotel lobby.

Guest passes to all Coosawattee River Resort amenities are included with your stay:

  • 3 swimming pools — 1 indoor heated, 2 outdoor seasonal
  • Coosawattee River access for tubing, kayaking, and fishing
  • Pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts
  • Game room and fitness center
  • Scenic nature trails and wildlife-rich walking paths

Seasonal availability applies to outdoor pools and river programs. We'll include specific hours and access details in your pre-arrival message.

Yes — Coosawattee is a gated community with staffed entry points. Once your reservation is confirmed, we register your reservation with the resort so you have smooth, pre-authorized access throughout your stay. All of this is handled before you arrive. You'll receive full entry instructions in your pre-arrival message.

Almost certainly, yes — and it's one of the most loved parts of staying here. White-tailed deer are near-daily visitors at the cabin. A doe and her fawn are practically regulars. The buck — patient, fully-antlered, and completely unbothered — steps out of the tree line most evenings. We keep deer corn in the cabin because guests asked us to.

Great blue herons patrol the resort waterways. Green anole lizards have claimed the back deck. And the fireflies in summer are something you don't forget.

Getting Here

You're closer than you think. Here's the lay of the land.

About 90 minutes north via I-575 North. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the same distance. The drive winds through the North Georgia foothills and becomes genuinely beautiful in the final 20 minutes — you'll know you're almost there when the mountains appear.

Tip: Friday afternoon traffic on I-575 can add 30–45 minutes during peak seasons. Saturday morning arrivals are much smoother.

About 10 minutes — just enough separation to feel like you've left it all behind, close enough to grab dinner downtown without a second thought. Restaurants, wineries, shops, and the Ellijay Farmers & Artisans Market are all a short drive away.

Blue Ridge is about 30 minutes east — an easy day trip for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, downtown dining, or additional wineries. Chattanooga is approximately 2 hours north. Both make great additions to a longer stay.

174 Palmetto Drive, Ellijay, GA 30540 — inside Coosawattee River Resort.

Full directions, gate entry instructions, and parking details are included in your pre-arrival message. If you're using GPS, we'll note which mapping app is most reliable for navigating within the resort.

Quite a lot, between the resort amenities and what's a short drive away:

  • River tubing and kayaking on the Coosawattee
  • Nature trails through the resort grounds
  • Bear Creek mountain biking trails nearby
  • Fort Mountain State Park — 20 minutes, stunning hiking
  • Tumbling Waters Trail for a waterfall fix
  • Carters Lake for boating and fishing

Or just stay on the back deck with the outdoor fireplace and let the Blue Ridge Mountains come to you. That's a legitimate vacation strategy and one we fully endorse.

Discover Ellijay

Georgia's Apple Capital is more than apples. Here's everything we'd tell you over coffee on the porch.

Ellijay is a historic southern mountain town that somehow stayed real while the rest of North Georgia got discovered. It has wineries, cideries, breweries, mountain biking, rivers, apple orchards, live music every weekend, and a downtown square that doesn't feel like a tourist set. It also has a pace. Things slow down here in the best possible way.

It's close enough to Atlanta to be an easy escape, far enough away to feel like you've actually left.

Ellijay is Georgia's best-kept wine country secret. Here are all the wineries worth knowing:

  • Cartecay Vineyards — live music every weekend, beautiful Chimney Patio setting
  • Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard — estate winery, award-winning wines, summer concert series worth planning around
  • Fainting Goat Vineyards & Winery — sustainably farmed, dog-friendly garden lawn, Friday Sunset Concerts all summer
  • Buckley Vineyards — intimate farm setting on Turkey Creek, live music Friday through Sunday
  • Roo Mountain Vineyards — rooftop patio, small-production wines, ticketed dinner events
  • Engelheim Vineyards — hidden gem, estate vines in the Appalachian foothills

  • Ellijay River Vineyards — riverside setting, Georgia-grown varietals
  • Bear Claw Vineyards — estate vineyard with breathtaking mountain views
  • Ott Vineyards & Winery — family farm, award-winning Muscadine and hybrid wines

Ask us which ones have events during your stay — the calendar changes weekly and we stay current on it.

Ellijay has a legit craft beer scene — and it keeps growing. The full lineup:

  • Cartecay Bike Shop Brewery — pedal in, pour a pint. Bike-culture taproom with rotating taps and a great outdoor vibe
  • Cartecay River Brewing Co. — the flagship of the local craft beer scene, solid year-round lineup
  • Grumpy Old Men Brewing — small-batch, rotating taps, great outdoor seating
  • Angry Hops Brewing — hop-forward IPAs and creative seasonal releases
  • Tipping Point Brewing Co. — local favorite, frequently paired with rotating food trucks
  • Fannin Brewing Co. — just across the county line in Blue Ridge, well worth the 30-minute drive

This is apple country — the cideries and orchards are a big part of what makes Ellijay worth the drive.

Cideries:

  • Reece's Cider Company — hard cider made from North Georgia apples, tasting room with orchard views
  • House of Applejay — apple brandy and cider, a uniquely regional experience you won't find anywhere else
  • Mercier Orchards Cidery — the biggest name in Georgia apple products, tasting room open on site year-round

Apple Orchards (U-Pick & Farm Markets):

  • Hillcrest Orchards — pumpkins, corn maze, event venue, especially great for families
  • Mercier Orchards — the most famous, massive farm store open year-round

  • Red Apple Barn — fun farm market with pick-your-own options
  • Penland's Apples — small family orchard, genuine North Georgia experience
Apple season runs roughly August through November, peaking in October during the Georgia Apple Festival. Some orchards are open year-round — call ahead for u-pick availability.

The Georgia Apple Festival takes place over two weekends in October — typically the second and third weekends of the month. Yes, it is absolutely worth planning a trip around. The orchards are extraordinary in fall and the town is at its most alive.

October is our most popular season. Book early — often months in advance for Apple Festival weekends. Seriously.

These are the places we actually send our guests. Every one of them is locally owned:

  • Butcher & Bottle — steaks, charcuterie, great wine list. The date night choice.
  • The Roof — rooftop Southern cuisine with mountain views, cocktails, and a vibe
  • Back Porch Bistro — gourmet sandwiches and homemade soups, a downtown gem for lunch
  • Cajun Depot Grill — Louisiana Cajun and Creole in a historic railroad station. Yes, really. It's wonderful.
  • Cantaberry Restaurant — award-winning soups and chicken salad, a locals' institution
  • Cornerstone Cafe — Southern breakfast done right, perfect morning stop before the orchards
  • Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza — Neapolitan-style, unpretentious, bring the kids
  • Ellijay Tapz — craft beer on tap, artisan pizza and tapas, great casual night out
  • Kasei Sushi & Sake — sushi and ramen in the mountains. It sounds like it shouldn't work. It absolutely does.
  • La Catrina Tacos & Margaritas — Mexican street tacos and great margaritas, fantastic patio
  • Mr. P's Takeout Food — the best breakfast biscuits in North Georgia. An institution.
  • River Street Tavern — local institution, craft beer selection, gourmet burgers
  • The Shack of Ellijay — poke bowls, noodle bowls, and bubble tea. A surprise favorite.
  • Rally Point Grille — veteran-owned, burgers, wings, sandwiches — great for game day
  • Mike's Ellijay — classic Southern meat-and-three diner. The real deal.

Tell us what kind of night you're looking for — date night, family dinner, casual bite after a long hike — and we'll send you to the right place.

It is very real. The Door is Ellijay's hidden speakeasy bar — the kind of place you have to know about to find. Events and hours are posted on their Facebook page. It's a genuinely fun evening and one of those only-in-Ellijay experiences we love sending guests to.

We'll tell you where to look when you get here.

More than most people expect:

  • Ellijay Farmers & Artisans Market — every Saturday, May through September on the downtown square
  • Live music — multiple wineries and venues host musicians every Friday and Saturday night, year-round
